Artists, producers and songwriters are on the edge of their seats as they wait for the nominees for the 23rd annual South African Music Awards (SAMAs) to be announced. Judges will announce 2017's nominees at a function in Kempton Park this evening after receiving more than 700 entries to the different categories. SAMA judges announced earlier this month that the amount of entries increased from 470 in 2016 to more than 700 this year. After a stringent vetting process that involved officials from the Recording Industry of South Africa  and record company representatives, the list of nominees will be made public on Thursday evening. All the entries were handed over to panels of independent experts drawn from radio, TV, newspapers, blogs and the recording industry for the judging process. DJ KHALED MAJOR KEY DJ  Khaled 's "I'm the One," featuring Justin Bieber,  Quavo ,  Chance the Rapper  and  Lil Wayne , launches at No. 1 on the  Billboard Hot 100  chart (dated May 20). The high-profile collab, released on We the Best/Def Jam/Epic Records, is the first Hot 100 leader for Khaled (who co-produced and co-wrote it and adds vocals) and Chance the Rapper, as well as the first for Quavo, of rap act  Migos , as a soloist. Bieber earns his fourth No. 1 and Lil Wayne scores his third.
